Expected learning outcomes
Linguistic terminology
Syntactic functions and structures of Spanish and Latin American language.
Linguistic competence in Spanish and Latin American language at the B2 CEFR level.
2.2. Applying knowledge and understanding
Ability to use linguistic terminology and to analyze the Spanish language from a syntactic point of view in relation to the phenomena treated during the course.
2.3. Making judgments
Ability to make correctness/grammaticality/adequacy judgments based on linguistic reasoning; to formulate hypotheses and solve parsing problems; to self-assess one’s own language learning and acquisition process with particular attention to syntactic correction; to appreciate the importance of language correction and language responsibility on an individual, social and professional level.
2.4. Communication skills
Ability to explain the syntactic phenomena treated during the course; to communicate with the degree of correction and adequacy required at level B2 of the CEFR.
2.5. Lifelong learning skills
Basic ability to self-assess acquisition of metalinguistic contents as well as linguistic competence of Spanish and Latin American language; ability to implement foreground knowledge to move forward onto the following course (Lingua Spagnola 3).

Assessment methods
- a written part (i) consisting of a multiple choice and gap-filling cloze for assessing linguistic competence (B2) (40% of the final mark);
- a written part (ii) consisting of open questions, multiple choice, and gap-filling cloze for assessing metalinguistic competence in Spanish syntax as well as written skills (60% of the final mark).
Both parts are scheduled on the same day.
Duration (part i + part ii): 100 min.
In order to get an overall pass in Lingua Spagnola 1/2/3 (LT0061) or Lingua Ispano-americana 1/2/3 (LT006Q), students must:
- get a mark equal to or greater than 60% in the written part (i)
- get a mark equal to or greater than 60% in the written part (ii)
No partial marks will be kept for the following exam sessions.
Students holding a DELE certificate of B2 level (or higher) linguistic competence must only take part A, on the condition that the date of the exam is at the latest two years prior to the date in which the certificate was obtained and that they provide the lecturer with a paper or electronic copy (both sides) of the certificate. No other certificates shall be accepted. Mark achieved on the DELE certificate (x/100) will be converted into an x/30 mark, regardless of the DELE certificate level.
