This course is mandatory for students who have not passed the Written Italian Language Access Test for the Department of Comparative Linguistic and Cultural Studies (DSLCC) in Venice in the second semester. This course aims to fill possible linguistic gaps, in particular with regard to phonology, morphology, syntax, spelling, comprehension of texts, formal writing and academic writing.
This course aims to develop language skills and to fill gaps with contrastive analysis with other languages that have been studied.
There are no prerequisites
Spoken and written Italian language. Basic skills in Italian grammar and writing: orthography, punctuation, morphology and syntax, lexicon. Reading and comprehension: text typologies, structure of the text, allegorical figures and knowledge of academic writing.

The exams will be oral, in attendance. Review tests will be offered to interested students during the course. Questions on the final exam will be on all sections taught during the course (Phonetics, orthography, punctuation, morphology, syntax, vocabulary, characteristics of special languages, text comprehension, formal and academic writing).
The course will be with lectures and workshops face-to-face. Attendance is not mandatory, but strongly recommended.
