The course is among the basic ones of the Degree in Economics and Business.
The course aims to provide students with the knowledge of the fundamental legal institutes of modern administrative law and to understand their function as tools for regulating economic and social reality. Essential for these purposes will be the acquisition of an appropriate legal language and the ability to frame human relationships of legal, personal and patrimonial relevance, within the reference regulatory system.
1. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- To have an overview of the main institutes of today's administrative law, the organisation of public administration, administrative procedures, administrative acts, also with reference to the influence of European Union law.
- To understand the legal mechanisms of interaction between public administration activities and social and economic phenomena

2. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- To acquire the basic ability to research and analyse legal sources and case law trends in administrative
- To be able to identify the legal institutes relevant to regulate specific relations between the public administration, citizens and businesses

3. SKILLS OF JUDGMENT
- To interpret legal texts and other relevant materials and to relate them to each other
- To assess the consequences of the institutes of administrative law in real cases

4. COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS
- To make appropriate use of the lexicon of administrative law and public organizations
- To be capable of adapting the style of communication according to the context, the audience and the kind of document/exposition to be made

5. LEARNING ABILITY
- To autonomously understand and interpret legislative, doctrinal and case law developments in administrative law
- To be able to deepen the knowledge of administrative law over time in relation to the evolution of public administrations

The learning assessment will be conducted through a written test (with a duration of one and a half hours) consisting of three open questions. The following evaluation criteria will be taken into account to assign the final grade: - knowledge and understanding of the notions and principles of the matter; - ability to identify and evaluate relevant legal sources; - appropriate use of the technical and legal terms. As a general rule, the highest marks (27 and above) will be awarded to papers that correctly address all three questions and demonstrate a good or very good level of understanding of the legal institutes
