DIGITAL ARCHIVISTICS

The course aims to enable the student to acquire skills relating to the formation, management, conservation, use and exploitation of digital archives and digital descriptive resources.

At the end of the course, the student will acquire basic knowledge of theories, methods, legislation and tools concerning the following areas:

- training, management and conservation of document management systems;
- description of archives through the use of archival description software;
- digitization of archives;
- fruition and exploitation of archival descriptions and digitized archival resources.

Basic knowledge of elements, legislation and archival terminology.

The course will cover the following topics: digital document; electronic signatures; document management systems; conservation systems; archival description standards; software for archival description; digitization of archival heritage; fruition and exploitation of digitized archival resources; archival information systems and digital libraries.

The verification of learning takes place in two phases: during the practical applications and in the final exam, dedicated to the general themes of the course and the specific theme that the student chooses to deepen.
