The course of Digital manuscript studies is the second part of "Data analysis, digital manuscript and archival studies". The course offers to students of the master's degree in "Digital and Public Humanities" an introduction to the theory and practice of working with manuscripts in the digital age.
On successful completion of this course, students

- will be able to understand the main functions of digital reproduction
- will have a sound knowledge of digital cataloguing and its semantics
- will have a sound knowledge of digital codicology and palaeography



No prior knowledge of manuscript studies or digital editing is required. All levels of skills are welcome to participate.
The goal of this mudule is to introduce students to the theory and practice of working with manuscripts in the digital age and to provide a taster of core digital humanities theories and practice which have been tailored specifically to people working with manuscripts.

The exam is oral, and the student has to answer the questions in such a way as to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the subject to pass the exam.
Lessons will be carried out in a conventional manner.
