ORGANISATION OF SOCIAL SERVICE

The course aims to describe and understand the organization of public and private institutional entities in the third sector within which the social service operates. From the history of public social and health organizations to the current situation, attention will be paid to the tools and models of social services programming and the role of different organizational actors in planning, management and provision of these services; The course has two objectives: to understand the organizational logic of planning and provision of social services; to know the current structure of Italian social services and the mechanisms that regulate access.

Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course students will have tools to analyze at a basic level the national, regional and local social policies and the main programming and delivery of social services in Italy.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course, students will be able to recognize the main characteristics of the models of organization of social services (public and third sector) and apply the categories studied to the management of operational cases.

Basic knowledge of social service and the Italian legal system

1. Definition of organisation and analysis models of organisations.
2. Historical and legislative framework: from the origins to the current system of services; Public actors and the third sector; The provision of social welfare services.
3. Governance and local planning of services; The Area Plan; Organizational models for the associated management of services; Production and outsourcing of services; Regulation of access to services: essential levels of care; Social and health integration. Social work in the social services system
