This second-year course is part of the third macro-component of the programme, which 'aims to provide graduates with the ability to link tourism to specific social and cultural aspects of the territory [...], including skills in foreign languages [...]'.
By the end of the course, students will:

- be able to communicate accurately in English at a B2-to-C1 level in various written and oral situations typical of the tourism / hospitality industry;

- be able to discuss relevant aspects of sustainability;

- understand the communicative and intercultural aspects involved in translating/revising tourist texts in English;

- have experience presenting and describing food, wine, and artistic objects orally in English.

As per the course description: Adequate command of English is required (at least B2 of CEFR), as well as logical skills and verbal comprehension.

The professor will draw from and provide materials from various sources during the course.
The exam includes a written and an oral component. The written component has two parts: production of a text in professional English (text type to be determined) and a translation/revision task (2 hours). The oral component involves a short presentation on food, wine or art and a short question/answer session (total time for the oral: approximately 10 minutes).

The format of the exam may change slightly depending on student numbers.
