The course aims to trace the historical and theoretical coordinates of a comparative perspective in the context of Eastern European literatures.
Knowledge of the main theoretical positions from Russian formalists to the Tartu school, with attention to the specificity of the individual national traditions, and with references to the contributions of Jakobson, Bakhtin, Ingarden, Wellek, Marino, Vodicka, Todorov, Kristeva, Lotman Žižek, Naumow, Kantor et alii. Particular attention will be paid to the work and thought of Vladimir Kantor.

The contribution of Eastern Europe and Slavic literatures to the establishment of a new methodology of historical-literary studies spans theTtwentieth century. The individual theoretical positions seem to converge towards an idea of ​​universal literature that transcends the historical tragedies of the short century. Readings and comparative issues related to the concept of Europe will be addressed.
