Knowledge and understanding.
The aim of the course is to provide the student with knowledge about the conceptual design of a user experience based on the use of interactive systems and a human-centered approach.
During the course the students will learn the fundamental concepts of the user experience and the basic methodologies for its design and evaluation. Moreover, during the course the students will practice with interactive tools for the design and development by means of hands-on projects.Ability to apply knowledge and understanding.

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding.
The acquired knowledge will be useful for the conceptual design of user experiences, stepping through the user centred design methodology for designing the interaction to the use of prototyping techniques (sketching, storyboarding, low-fidelity prototyping) as well as its usability evaluation.
The student will learn the fundamental concepts of the human centered approach, starting from the definition of interface, user experience and related concepts (usability, engagement).
The student will be guided to understand the main phases of human-centered design, including the definition of the context and requirements, the use of prototyping techniques and the use of heuristics for design and evaluate the interaction.
Knowledge of the basic operating mechanisms of the interfaces of modern operating systems based on GUI and touch-screen is required.
Foundation of the human computer interaction (HCI)

Students will be evaluated though the execution of a project in group. The project work will focus on the design of a user experience. Students will use tool presented during the lectures.
The lessons will include frontal lessons, for acquiring concepts and methodologies, and collaborative lessons for conducting the basic interaction design exercises and the project work.
The course will use tools available in Moodle (chat, wiki, workshop, peer-review) and other complementary online services.
