The course is part of the educational activities decided by individual student of the degree in Economics and Business.
The purpose is to outline the economic determinants of the international market for agri-food products, highlight the organization and structure of the agri-food markets and the trade policies pursued, provide specific study and management tools. Particular attention is paid to the study of the supply and demand of agri-food products, to the economics of the international agri-food market, to the food supply balance and the exchange rates, and to the role of international policies for agri-food markets.
1 Knowledge and Understanding.
1.1 Investigating the economic determinants of the demand and supply of agricultural products in the global context.
1.2 Providing the tools for the study of agricultural trade and the Italian agri-food balance.
1.3 Classifying the international policies for agricultural markets and their effects on trade.
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding.
2.1 Applying the economic analysis to international trade in agricultural products.
2.2 Using the main tools provided for the study of agricultural trade and the Italian agri-food balance.
2.3 Identifying and highlighting the effects deriving from international policies for agricultural markets.
3. Judgment skills.
3.1 Abstracting and interpreting the economic model related to international agricultural markets.
3.2 Using of tools designed to explain the structure and evolution of the Italian agro-food balance and the exchange rate.
3.3 Conducting autonomously the study of the international agricultural markets and deepening the analysis through research projects, the elaboration of essays and reports.
Mandatory priority Exams: none.
Prerequisites: basic skills in Economics (micro and macro) and Mathematics (first module). Basic skills in demand and supply economic models and market forms.

The assessment of learning outcomes aims to verify the degree of acquisition of knowledge, skills and competences achieved. The evaluation is based on a final exam administered, mostly, in the Moodle quiz mode. The exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions with 4 alternatives, to be completed in 20 minutes. Each correct answer is awarded 1 point. The final score is equivalent to the number of correct answers.
The Course is conducted through classroom lessons.
Possibility of carrying out group work on specific Case Studies.
The study can be carried out with the help of Moodle platform and the Teacher's Book.
