EUROPEAN UNION LAW

The course is aimed at providing fundamental knowledge of EU law for an adequate understanding of the EU legal system and its role among the actors of the international community.
In particular, the historical development of the EU, the normative sources of EU law and the EU institutions, as well as specific matters of EU competence will be studied.
Said issues will be addressed having regard to the protection of fundamental human rights.
Each topic will also be analyzed with regard to cases drawn from the jurisprudence of the ECJ.
During classes, current issues such as the European Green Deal, sanctions, migration law, EU elections, and EU action on gender equality, will be addressed and discussed through seminars, workshops and teamwork.

Textbook and individual notes are not allowed during the exam.

Those attending the course: presentations at the end of the course (team work in 4/5 people). The assessment will count for the final mark.
Both parts must be sufficient (>18).
