This course is part of the Degree in International Trade and Tourism and of its purposes of international communication (both for business and tourism) and of understanding of global dynamics. In particular, the aim of the course is to reinforce and develop the Spanish language skills described by level B1 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The consolidation of written, oral, and listening competences is mainly realised through the study of themes and situations belonging to business and tourism contexts.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
1) Understand the terms and the communicative structures that enable the interaction in business and tourism contexts
2) Understand simple texts, articles, and audio recordings in Spanish on business and tourism topics
3) Write simple formal texts and plan projects
4) Interact about the topics of the course and present them to an audience
5) Work individually and in team
It is suggested to have the A2 level of Spanish Language. Without this prerequisite, the intensification of language practice (“lettorato”) and self-study is required before and during the course.
During the course the Spanish Language is mainly taught in its formal and working use. Some of the planned activities are the following:
1) Reading and analysis of articles and texts on topics related to the Degree Course
2) Listening to and understanding of audio recordings and videos
3) Presentations of companies, products, tourism regions
