INNOVATIVE AND INTERNATIONAL DIMENSIONS OF SOCIAL WORK I

The course aims to know some innovative methodologies that are relevant to social service and social work. To understand the meaning of new methods and practices it is necessary to analyze the evolution of the theoretical paradigms of social work discipline. After the theoretical studies, practical "experimentation" (f.i. role playing, case study, simulation, etc.) will be carried out in order to create connections between theoretical evolutions and innovations in social work and service social

Learning of the main theoretical frameworks of Social Work
Learning of best practices and innovative methodology to deal with social issues in the National and International contexts
Analytical capacity to understand different social problems, to realize evaluation and selection of the best choises
Development of specif skills to deal with groups and communities

There aren't required specific prerequisites

Definition and characteristics of innovation in social service and social work
The evolution of paradigms in Social Work Theory
Contribution of critical thinking to the development of social disciplines
Think in globally to act locally through policies to promote active citizenship
Innovations in the social service with particular reference to case studies and projects in specific areas of intervention.
