The Museum and its History
The contemporary Museum
Museum and Space
The visitors

The contemporary Museum is the result of a process started at the origins of our Civilization with the first forms of collecting. Between Past and Present, between Private and Public, the museum is a dynamic and constantly evolving organism. Today, for example, from an architectural container the Museum has become a cultural content in itself, fulfilling a very articulated function focused on bodies of competence such as the ICOM (International Council of Museums). What are the founding aspects of the Museum Institution? what is its typological evolution in the European historical-artistic culture? The two questions will be placed at the center of the lessons of the course, in order to allow students to familiarize themselves with some cultural and institutional aspects of the broad sector of the Conservation and Management of Cultural Heritage in Italy.
Workshop section - Only for attending Students
An integral part of the commitment required of attending Students is the realization of a group work to be presented in the classroom, according to a calendar to be established, as a case study relating to the history or the setting up of a specially visited Museum.
