The module aims to provide students with theoretical knowledge, techniques and basic tools for the creation and wiriting of narrative texts and, more specifically, of short stories and poems
The aim is to provide the student with the main theoretical and practical notions relating to creative writing, trying together to establish a dialogue with the other teaching areas of the Minor.
The student will be asked to actively participate in the lessons, through the elaboration of narrative texts and poetry and discussing them with the class, in order to acquire mastery of the instrument of writing in the fictional framework, but also a critical spirit and a greater ability to distance himself from diary and personal writing.
A good knowledge of the Italian language and its grammar rules and a specific interest in reading novels, short stories, poems, as well as writing is required.
The course will focus on the main elements of the narrative, in prose and verse, and in particular: the voice and extra-locality, action and temporality, characters and psychology. Particular emphasis will be given to stylistic aspects and language, specifically the metaphorical field and the figures of meaning. We will define the dialogue articulation techniques and the described and analytical elements, finally we will arrive at the phase of the labor file or editing. Each theoretical lesson will be followed by an individual writing exercise, the results of which will be shared and discussed during the lessons.

Learning will be verified by taking into consideration the presence and active participation in lessons and discussions and through the written documents presented from time to time
The course includes a part of lectures accompanied by iconographic and audiovisual material and a part of practical exercises also aimed at the creation of narrative texts and poems.
