The course is an elective among the interdisciplinary courses of the Bachelor of Business Administration, and aims to provide the fundamental knowledge for strategic analysis. The topics covered concern the analysis of the competitive ecosystem, competitive dynamics, and competitiveness factors at the various levels of entrepreneurial governance (corporation, business enterprise/division, and product/service). The theme of sustainable development is transversal to the concepts taught and therefore recurs throughout the course
By the end of the course, students will have received a broad overview of the factors underlying competitive dynamics at the different levels of entrepreneurial governance (corporation, company/business, product/service). They will be able to assess competitiveness at the various levels, the factors that make an industrial sector more or less attractive, the competitive dynamics between rival firms, and the sources of their competitive advantage. Basics of business intelligence will also be illustrated, with some simple demonstrations of visual analytics techniques.
Attendance and active participation in the training activities proposed by the course (frontal lectures, group work, and company testimonials) will provide students with a series of tools concerning the application of the theoretical tools learned during their course of study, as well as further new tools proposed during the course.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to concretely apply what they have learned, drafting a series of papers that will ultimately constitute a report valuable for the final assessment.
For any pre-requisites, students must refer to their study plan:
