The course belongs to the basic teaching activities of the Bachelor's Degree Programmes in Philosophy, placing itself within the teachings of the historical-philosophical area. The educational objective of the course is to provide knowledge related to the history of philosophy. Particular attention will be paid to the concept of metaphysics as a privileged thread for the investigation of the history of philosophy. At the end of the course are expected students' understanding and knowledge about authors and problems of the history of metaphysics, as well as the ability to apply such knowledge in order to compare different philosophical theories, catching similarities and differences, and in order to be able to argue in critical way about the expounded historical-philosophical problems.
At the end of the course students should
1) demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the most important themes of the history of metaphysics from Kant to Nietzsche;
2) have the ability to analyze in argumentative way the materials of the book of examination;
3) be able to communicate and discuss ideas and problems of the history of metaphysics from Kant to Nietzsche.
Knowledge of Greek and modern metaphysics is required.

Recommended text for the philosophy from Kant to Hegel (in particular for not-attending students):
Cambiano-Fonnesu-Mori (a cura di), La filosofia classica tedesca, Il Mulino 2014.
The evaluation will be based on a oral exam. The students should demonstrate
1) knowledge of the metaphysical and anti-metphysical thought of the following authors: Kant, Fichte, Schelling, Hegel, Feuerbach, Kierkegaard, Marx, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Dilthey, Weber.
2) knowledge and understanding of the philosophical texts of the examination book "Storia della metafisica";
3) the ability to communicate in clear and argumentative way themes, problems and authors of the history of metaphysics.
Lecture with critical analysis of texts.
A ON LINE SEMINAR dedicated to the critical analysis of the texts is held ALL FRIDAY MORNING
