The course is one of the complimentary activities of the degree course. The general goal of the course is to develop a B2 level competence (CEFR) in English for economics and business by focusing on the development of the receptive and productive skills, on the use of authentic texts, and on the characterizing textual, lexical and grammatical features.
The student will:

- know and understand the specific characterizing features (textual, lexical, grammatical) of English for economics and business;

- be able to apply this knowledge in understanding authentic texts and in producing written and oral texts on topics related to economics and business;

- know how to communicate in English clearly and appropriately;

- acquire the skills and learning strategies to be able to continue autonomously to develop competence in the English for economics and business.
A good B1 level of English or higher, and willingness to improve one's own grammatical and lexical knowledge.

Written and spoken exam

Written exam (online):
Quiz on Moodle through the SEB (Safe Exam Browser) software.
Enrolled students will be divided into shifts and will receive instructions and the link to the quiz during a videoconference on ZOOM (link sent by the teacher).
They will then have one hour to complete the following sessions:

Part A – Grammar in Context
Part B – Gap Fill
Part C – Morphology
Part D – Reading Comprehension
Part E – Grammar and Vocabulary

Spoken exam (online):
Students who pass the written test can access the oral exam, which will take place via videoconference on ZOOM with timetables provided by the teacher. The student chooses to present a topic taken from the "Business Result" textbook (1-2 minutes) and then has to interact with the teacher and another classmate about a topic chosen by the teacher from the same book.
Teacher- fronted: units from "Business Result", and additional activities (Padlet, Kahoot, Quizlet) on Moodle.
Interactive: pair and group work; student interaction is encouraged.
