The purpose of the Course is to provide students with a theoretical and practical toolkit on business administration and organizational management, with specific reference to the CCIs (Cultural and Creative Industries).
The objective of the course is:
- to transfer the main concepts of Economics, in order to support the student in being able to critically analyze the internal and external dynamics operating in organizations;
- to provide students with an appropriate set of analytical skills to investigate the system of relationships that exist between the organization and its competitive and institutional system of reference;
- to offer an apt theoretical and practical framework, designed to promote the student's comprehension of the governance and management system in an organization, with a specific focus on the connection that decision-making processes have with eco-financial performance;
- to develop and in-depth knowledge of the specific organizational, managerial and decision-making dynamics of CCIs, investigating the risks and the opportunities that they are requested to tackle.
At the end of the course, students will have an in-depth knowledge of the process of governing and managing an organization. Specific attention will be given to the analysis of specific managerial processes, including market and product diversification and structural dimensioning. On a whole, the purpose is to provide students with the ability to navigate and understand the determinants and the effects of business decisions.
There are no specific pre-requisites to attend the course: initiative, critical thinking and pro-activeness are considered fundamental features to successfully attend the course.

Analytical discussions of specific case histories will be part of the program.
Further information will be given during the introductory meeting (first lecture).

Slides presented in class will be part of the mandatory material.
For attending students, the exam will be composed by:

- written exam (75% of final grade)
- group work (25% of final grade)

For non attending students, the exam will be composed by an exam at the end of the semester.

Due to the COVID-19 emergency, the written exam could be performed either online or in person. Further information will be provided.
