This course falls within the characterizing teachings of the course "Languages, Cultures and Societies of Asia and Mediterranean Africa". It consists of one module of Armenian language and two training modules divided into two semesters. The course aims to provide students with methodological tools for an intermediate knowledge of the Armenian language. Particular attention is given to morphological and syntactic aspects.

The objectives of the course are: to provide intermediate grammatical knowledge of the Armenian language with greater attention to verbal and nominal systems, exercises; readings from short stories and simple newspaper articles and film viewing; provide intermediate skills for reading, writing and oral production of the Armenian language; provide knowledge and skills for translating from Armenian to Italian.
The level that students should reach at the end of the course should be around a level A2-Base level of the CEFR. The achievement of these objectives allows the student to have the necessary foundation to continue with "Armenian Language 3".
1. Knowledge and understanding
- to know and understand the functioning of the grammatical structures of intermediate-level Armenian
- to know and understand key concepts and the essential terminology required to describe in a scientific way the phenomena studied during the class

2. Applying knowledge and understanding:
- to know how to identify grammatical categories and their properties
- to demonstrate a general understanding of intermediate grammar structures
- to be able to describe constructions and grammatical phenomena studied during classes by correctly using the terminology and the basic tools of syntactic analysis
- to know how to interact in the communicative situations described by the A2 level of the CEFR
- to understand and produce oral and written texts in agreement with the A2 level of the CEFR
- to be able to translate elementary-level written texts from Armenian into Italian, following the instructions provided during the course

4. Communication:
- comprehension, writing and oral skills required by the A2 level of the CEFR
- to be able, during classes, to interact with one's peers, with the teacher and with the CELs in a critical and respectful way

5. Lifelong learning skills:
- to be able to take notes pertinently and effectively
- to be able to consult the texts and reference materials suggested in the course bibliography
- to be able to develop the skills acquired in the course to undertake higher studies.
Having achieved the learning results of the "Armenian Language 1" class.
Knowledge of the basic categories of sentence analysis.
The course will provide a parallel treatment of Western and Eastern Armenian:
main similarities and differences; exercises, readings from short stories and simple newspaper articles; film viewing, translation (30 hours)

Attendance is not compulsory, although it is strongly recommended.
No additional readings are required for non-attending students.

The students will periodically take tests.
At the end of the second semester there will be a final exam, both oral and written. The written test consists of exercises with the aim of ascertaining the acquired grammatical and lexical skills.
Both written and oral translation from Italian into Armenian and vice versa. Dictation. An oral analysis of a studied text.
The written test can be replaced by passing two intermediate tests. During the written test the use of books, notes and electronic devices is not allowed. During the oral examination the student must demonstrate knowledge of the topics developed during the course.
