Mahler.

Gustav Mahler (1860-1911) is one of the greatest composers of all time and every country. Author above all of Lieder and symphonies which, although an expression of his time, asked critics, less than the public, for a suitable period before being assimilated and entering the world repertoires, he was also one of the most important conductor of the fin de siècle, as well as superintendent of important theaters in Europe, among which the Vienna State Opera stands out.
In the face of the misunderstandings of which he was signaled, he wrote: "my time will come". Today his art, which demands rigor and virtuosity from orchestras and performers and still remains difficult to achieve, is finally 'popular', and it is necessary to understand the reasons for it, placing his work in the post-romantic European tradition. It will also be the Mahler conductor, and the Viennese cartellono managed by him.

Knowledge of the main symphony of the greatest composers of the 19th century, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Hector Berlioz, Felix Mendelssoh, Robert Schumann, Anton Bruckner, Johannes Brahms, Pëtr Il’ič Čajkovskij, Antonín Dvořák is required. The individual pieces will be indicated in the first lessons.
