With this course, I aim to iintroduce students to one of the most acute thinkers of our time: Emanuele Severino. More precisely, I intend to refer this author's thought to the lesson of the great classics of the History of Philosophy and critically address his ontological proposal and its implications in the field of practical philosophy.
NB: The author's production will be considered until the mid-nineties

The expected results of this first part of the course are as follows:
(a) to introduce students to the fundamental figures of classical ontology;
b) to avoid naive readings of the author treated and of the metaphysical tradition in which he is inserted;
c) to highlight the fundamental points of communication between ontology and practical philosophy.
There is no particular pre-requisite other than a general knowledge of the history of philosophy.
