This module will focus in particular on highlighting the benefits of these techniques, which can be summarized by the term “responsive web design”, and to show how they have been successfully merged with a variety of tools and platform, including content management systems (CMS) that allow content experts to publish information autonomously without being involved in low technical details. The module aims also to explore another relevant dimension, that one of context-awareness. While in the past years the main variable for the delivery of web information has been the type of device and software platform, nowadays different platforms allow to associate the delivery of information to the recognition of a location or object. The module will underline and let the students to experiment the benefits of associating context to web information, ranging from the diminishment of the cognitive load to the possibility to focus only on proper information up to the emotional involvement.

On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
• understand the benefits of responsive web design;
• use a CMS platform for delivering information to a variety of desktop and mobile devices;
• use an augmented reality platform for associating web information to locations and objects.
