This course will enable the students to understand different cultures, increasing cross-cultural awareness and understanding, and to gain very rich insights into various Europe civilisations.
• critical thinking and analytical skills;
• improve writing and communication skills;
• apprise the basic tools of interpretation;
• develop awareness of the diversity and complexity of human civilization.
The students may have good intellectual skills and critical analysis abilities, writing abilities, motivation and readiness to do independent work; background in history and its methodology is highly required.
Social, Cultural, Economic and Political History of Romania
• Social, cultural, economic and political conditions in the historical regions of Romania and Southeastern and Eastern Europe from the prehistoric period to the late 20th century;
• The effects of change over time on society, politics, culture, economics and religion in the Romanian Principalities and the modern Romanian state.
The exam will consist of an oral exam in Italian. The student has to answer the questions from the semester course, course materials, and a list of suggested textbooks for the course.
The course will be teach in the traditional lecture mode; however, techniques of active and cooperative learning will be used to supplement professors' lectures.
