The Chinese language module 3-1 is one of the main courses of the three-year degree course in Languages, cultures and societies of Asia and Mediterranean Africa and aims to provide students with tools and skills at an intermediate level in the linguistic field. translatological. The goal is to make it possible for them to apply their language skills and abilities in different communication situations (in particular in commercial contexts), as well as in the reading and interpretation of simple economic texts, so as to make them a key tool for acquiring a solid understanding of Chinese society.
Achievement of a level of linguistic competence equivalent to level B1 + of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Knowledge of Languages). In particular:
1. Knowledge and understanding
• Know the key phrases needed to interact in commercial communication contexts.
• Have a solid understanding of the grammar system of the modern Chinese language.
• Know a lexicon of about 1600 words and 1120 characters, also including economic-commercial terms (active competence).
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
• Knowing how to correctly use key phrases necessary to interact in commercial communication contexts.
• Knowing how to understand written texts on economic and commercial topics.
• Knowing how to use a lexicon of about 1600 words and 1120 characters in writing, also including economic-commercial terms.
• Knowing how to correctly translate sentences including relatively complex grammatical structures into Chinese.
3. Judgment skills
• Knowing how to assess the level of one's knowledge, skills and language competences.
4. Communication skills
• Knowing how to communicate the specifics of linguistic and textual analysis, using appropriate terminology.
5. Learning skills a
• Knowing how to relate the different study contexts and apply one's knowledge, skills and abilities for personal and professional growth.
• Have an excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of the Italian language: be able to express oneself correctly both in written and oral form and master the tools of grammar and logical analysis.
• Having passed the Chinese Language 2 exam.
The course, aimed at students who choose to follow the economic-legal orientation, develops the ability to understand and translate simple Chinese texts on economic topics. It also provides oral linguistic skills in the commercial field and consolidates the ability to translate sentences including relatively complex grammatical structures into Chinese. Specifically, it offers:
• reading, translation and grammatical and translational commentary of short Chinese economic texts: 30 hours of theory and practice;
• training in linguistic interaction in commercial communication contexts: 60 hours of exercises A (conversation)
• training in the translation into Chinese of sentences including even relatively complex grammatical structures: 60 hours of exercises B (translation);
• conversation tutoring for small groups: exercises C;
• translation tutoring for small groups: exercises D.

La verifica delle competenze e delle abilità acquisite è effettuata mediante tre prove: un test di comprensione e traduzione di un breve testo cinese di argomento economico, una prova di conversazione in ambito commerciale e un test di traduzione in cinese di frasi comprendenti strutture grammaticali anche relativamente complesse.

Durante l’esame non è consentito l’uso di dizionari. Per superare l’esame è necessario ottenere un punteggio minimo di 6/10 in ciascuna delle tre prove: il voto finale risulterà dalla somma dei singoli voti ottenuti e sarà espresso in trentesimi.
