Korean Language mod. 1 '(second language) is one of the core courses within the "China" and "Japan" curriculum of the Corso di Laurea in "Lingue, Culture e Società dell'Asia e dell'Africa Mediterranea". Its formative objectives fall within the area of language skills learning.
Two modules divided into the two semesters.
1. Language knowledge and language comprehension:
Complete the knowledge of grammatical structures of Korean at Beginners' level. Knowledge and understanding of the usage of grammatical structures of Korean at Beginners' level (CEFR Level A1+/A2)

2. Ability to apply language knowledge and comprehension:
Ability to identify grammar categories and their properties. Demonstrate a general comprehension of Korean grammatical structures for beginners. Ability to describe constructs and grammatical phenomena of Korean, acquired during the course. Ability to make a correct use of terminology and basic tools of syntactic analysis acquired.

Lesson 1 – honorific (review), -하다 (adjective and verb), adverb, wearing verbs, -동안, 함께, 같이, 처럼, 같이
Lesson 2 – -으러, -고 싶다, exclamation(군요)
Lesson 3 – day, day a week, time, week, month, year, age, the classifiers of Korean
Lesson 4 – every(마다), only(만), per(씩), about(쯤), future form(-을 거예요), but(지만), negative form, negative commands form
Lesson 5 – too(도), supposition form, various meaning of ‘이나’
Lesson 6 – intention form, ability or possibility, ability or know how to do(-을 줄 알다/모르다), -아/어/여 보다
Lesson 7 – modifier (-은/는/을)
Lesson 8 – -게, reason or cause form(-어서/아서/여서), when(때/-을 때), -고 있다
Lesson 9 – or(거나), -잖아요, reason or cause form(-으니까), nominalization form
Lesson 10 – -자마자, reason or cause form(-기 때문에). -으려고, comparison form
Lesson 11 – -에서 제일, 밖에, various meaning of ‘이나’, -을게요
Lesson 12 – future form(-겠-), -지요?, -아/어/여 주세요
Lesson 13 – command or proposition form, -아/어/여 보다

The final exam consists of a written test (about 1 h) with multiple choice questions and open questions on the course program.

The 12 credits associated with this class will be achieved after passing the Mod 1 and Mod 2(final) exam. The final grade will be determined by the average of the grades obtained in each of the two tests
The grade achieved in part I (Mod 1) will be valid until the completion of part II (Mod 2) and no later than the first appeal of January of the following year.
In case of failure to pass part II (Mod 2) the first appeal in January, the student will have to take again the exam of the first part (Mod 1) and will be able to do starting from the second appeal of January.
Lectures and exercises with Power Point presentations. Presentations and in-depth materials will be available on the moodle.
