The teaching is part of the course of studies as a characterizing subject within the LLEAP, within the field of "Iberistica". Furthermore, the teaching is part of the course of studies in Comparative International Relations (RIC) and of the course of study in Language Sciences too.
The course objectives are as follows:
1) to strengthen the knowledge and understanding of the Hispanic American cultures and literatures acquired in the first cycle, as well as to elaborate and apply original ideas in the field of Hispanic American studies;
2) to develop skills in analyzing new or non-familiar topics, embedded in broader (or interdisciplinary) contexts related to the Hispanic American area;
3) to make judgments on cultural and literary issues based on limited or incomplete information by using knowledge acquired;
4) to communicate clearly and without ambiguity their conclusions, as well as their knowledge, to specialists and non-specialists;
5) to develop learning abilities that allow them to continue studying mostly self-directed or autonomous.
The course will be delivered in Spanish, therefore it is required Second year Spanish language knowledge (level: C1) as a prerequisite.
History of Hispanic Cultures. Cultural Migrations Italy- Latin America. The reading and comentary of litterary texts between XIX and XX century.

The course will offer on insight on the different Hispanic American cultures through literature texts which will provide a thorough knowledge of the socio political development during XIXth and XXth centuries.To achieve this objective, the course will offer an overview through the most significant productions in the cultural field, that are the result of cultural migrations between Italy and Latin America. In this regard, texts (short stories and novels) relating to the problem in question will be analyzed. The course will be delivered in Spanish.

The modalities to check the learning skills include the drafting of a written essay that will be exposed and commented in class, and an oral exam aimed at ascertaining the knowledge acquired regarding the bibliography and the course contents dealt with in the classroom.
The teaching methods that will be used during the course will be frontal lessons, in which the teacher will present the concepts related to the presented bibliography. International seminars will also be organized. Moreover, the student will be involved during the lessons through the presentation of a short essay on a topic chosen from those proposed.
Italian
Students will be present at the International Conventions "Reescrituras del mito en las literaturas hispanoamericanas del siglo XX" dicember 2018, and "Topografías de la violencia" (17 dicembre), at the Round Table dedicated to Latin American studies, and at the presentation of the book: "Jorge Luis Borges (1986-2016): Viajes y tiempos de un escritor a través de culturas y sistemas" (the date will be defined). Further conferences and meetings will be announced in the classroom.
