Acquaintance with the fundamental idea of archival sciences through the examination of the archive's management and preservation; acquaintance with information accessing systems - both historical and modern; acquaintance with research methods and instruments in historical archives; acquaintance with different types of archives. The seminar, considered as basic activity in the BA program in History, curricula Archive and Library studies and as a core educational activity in the BA program, Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Performing Arts Management, Curricula Art History, offers knowledge of the history and management of documentary material, as well as the archival methodology to allow cultural operators (librarians, archivists, historians and art historians, operators and museum curators) to acquire skills in the treatment of archival material and its contextualisation, exploitation and enhancement.
Through the critical acquisition of the contents offered by the course, the student should have achieved at the end of the module the necessary skills to orientate himself in the disciplinary articulation of archival sciences and understand the general lines of the methods of production, management, conservation, planning and valorization of the archives.
