The knowledge of the French language plays a fundamental role in the context of the MSc Crossing the Mediterranean. Towards Investment and Integration (MIM), which aims to promote a deep knowledge of the countries on the southern shores of the Mediterranean and their interaction with contemporary Europe. In particular it aims to promote the development of the linguistic skills necessary to operate in the context of migrations in the Mediterranean area and intercultural mediation, historical and social skills, field research techniques and analysis of collected data, European planning skills.
At the end of the course, students should attain an overall B2 competence according to the European Framework. They should also know how to apply grammar rules allowing them to write and understand a text or a speech corresponding to B2 level.
In order to reach the B2 level required at the end of the course students must have A2/B1 level
During the lessons, texts and multimedia materials of various types (articles, literature excerpts, essays, short stories, etc..) will be proposed to the students; the texts will be mainly coherent with the geographic and linguistic domains of the "corso di laurea" and will mainly be related to the themes of intercultural competence. The texts will be read and commented (grammar, syntax, etc.) during the lessons
All the bibliographic information for the preparation will be provided at the beginning of the course


The written exam consists of a grammar text.
The oral exam consists of a conversation about the texts proposed during the course, followed by reading, translation and comment about (every aspect will be highlighted during the course) of a passage drawn from it.
