LABOUR LAW

The course is harmoniously part of the course of study, dealing with a subject - labor law - strictly connected with the work of people, its social dimension, individual and collective problems related to the organization of work (think of the problems of the labor market, income and forms of "poor" / precarious work, to gender discrimination - but not only gender - related to the world of work and business, to the work of immigrants, to bullying, to disability and to work, to legal instruments to overcome social inequalities related to work, the promotion of people's abilities, etc.).

The learning outcomes essentially concern the ability to interpret social phenomena related to work in the light of the reference legal-institutional framework, in order to integrate the sociological and political skills that are administered in the degree course. In particular, learning the legal rules of the labor market and the organization of work must allow the acquisition of a broader awareness of the legal and regulatory issues of work, in order to design policies, manage concrete situations of social need, understand correctness. or less of the management of personnel in the company and prepare the necessary measures, also in collaboration with the institutions responsible for compliance with the law in the management of labor relations (territorial labor Inspectorate, Inps, Inail, Judges, NGOs, etc.) .

The prerequisites relate to the knowledge of private law and the basics of contract law and obligations, as well as the knowledge of basic sociological notions related to the phenomenon of work, the labor market, and its cultural and scientific representations in individual and collective sphere. .

The contents of the course concern the labor market, the types of contracts, the management of the employment relationship, the discrimination and the anti-discriminatory right, the European and international law of labor law, also in order to understand the processes of globalization linked to work. and its problems (competition between legal and social systems, social dumping, violation of workers' fundamental rights, etc.)

The verification of learning takes place through an oral exam, to test not only the knowledge of the institutes but also the critical and reasoning skills, the spontaneity of the intellectual processes in responding to the solicitations, the ability to identify the problems and the possible solutions, with an open and constructive dialogue, but also tight and rigorous.

The teaching method is the frontal lesson, with the use of practical and jurisprudential cases, as well as the creation of study and work groups, the realization of thematic studies on specific problems and power point presentations by the students, led by the teacher both in the choice of themes of the materials to be used.
