The course aims to put students in a condition to acheive a competence in German language corresponding to B1 Level (European Framework of Reference for Languages), with special attention to the economic-commercial vocabulary (Wirtschaftsdeutsch).
Ability to understand reading, writing, listening and speaking of medium level of complexity in economics (level B1)
German competences A2 Level (European Framework of Reference for Languages).
The course will develope and improve linguistic skills: most of all, written comprehension of the economics, everyday-life and work situations, and written production of letters or e-mails. German grammar structures in the texts and situations will be explored.
In order to follow the lectures ("Lettorato") held by the mother-tongue teacher Dr. Neumann during the I Semester, the following text is recommended:

MONIKA REIMANN, Grundstufen-Grammatik für Deutsch als Fremdsprache, Hueber, Ismaning (last edition, with solutions book)
M. WEERNING, M. MONDELLO, Dies und das neu. Grammatica di tedesco con esercizi, Cideb, Genova 2004 (or a later edition).
H. DREYER, R. SCHMITT, Die neue Gelbe, Hueber, Ismaning 2009 (older editions are also good).
Written and oral examination. A minimum mark of 18/30 in the written test is a precondition to acceed the oral examination.

The writing consists of a grammar test of level B1 (without dinionario) and a short test of writing (with monolingual or bilingual dictionary).

Oral examination consists on a brief discussion on the topics (one of microeconomics, the other of macroeconomics) selected by the teacher from the two adopted German economic texts. In alternative to the oral examination, students may choose a reading comprehension test without dictionary from one of the two German books for Economics listed above.
