The main objective of the course is to consolidate C1 level English language competences as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
It specifically aims to develop effective written and spoken language skills in typical academic and professional contexts that students will need to face.
The final competence check will be with a written and oral test.
Knowledge and skills to operate independently in key academic and working contexts.
Ability to present onself, own skills and experience effectively through well written CV.
Ability to wirte convincing personal statement.
Ability to present yourself effectively at a job/course interview.
Ability to produce effective short written professional and academic reports.

CV writing strategies
Analyzing examples of effective personal statements and preparing one's own.
Approaches and techniques for interviews, for example how to manage difficult questions.
Academic report writing skills; summarising, paraphrasing, effective paragraphs and linking of ideas.

a) Writing CV personal statement and/or cover letter
b) Writing economic/business report based on documentation
2 Oral presentation; Interview and self-presentation

For students attending the course, assessment will be based on written and oral production of the above elements, as well as taking into account attendance and active particiaption during the course. There will also be a mid-course assessment test, the passing of which will count towards the final credits.
