Unseen Guests: Anticolonial Thinking on Archives, Water and Climate Justice

24 May 2024, 10am - 4pm CEST
Ca' Bottacin, Main Hall

Study Day
Organized by Cristina Baldacci (DFBC, NICHE), Beatriz Lobo (iniva), Renée Akitelek Mboya (iniva), Leon Wainwright (The Open University, NICHE)
The study day brings together artists, curators and scholars to engage in discussions around climate justice and anticolonial thinking, with a focus on archival research and intersections with water. As part of the public programme for the British Pavilion at this year's Venice Biennale, it allows for collaborative reflections and investigations of John Akomfrah's work, while approaching the wider context and themes of the 60th International Art Exhibition.
The event is presented by iniva, in collaboration with NICHE, the UNESCO Chair at Ca’ Foscari, The Open University, in the context of the British Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, with the support of British Council and Arts Council England.
