Open admission with minimum curricular requirements.
Quota reserved to non-EU students residing outside Italy: 20 seats, of which 3 are reserved for Chinese students living in China, under the Marco Polo Project.
To be admitted to this Master's Degree Programme students must possess a proper individual educational background and the minimum curricular requirements. A certified knowledge of English at minimum level B2 is also required.

Applicants with international qualification must have obtained a bachelor’s degree that is the result of at least 3 years of study. The preliminary evaluation of the qualification is mandatory. Procedures and deadlines are available on the dedicated online platform.
International qualification will be evaluated by the designated teaching committee after the pre-evaluation procedure carried out on the online platform.

The Master's Degree Programme in Languages, Economics and Institutions of Asia and North Africa (LEISAAM) offers three curricula: one for the Chinese language (Language, Societies, and Institutions of Contemporary China - LISIC), one for the Japanese language (Language, Economics, and Institutions of Japan - LEIG) and one for the Arabic language (Language, Politics, and Economics of Arabic Countries - LIPEA).
Two Departments contribute to the teaching programme, each with its own scientific and contextual specificity: the Department of Asian and North African Studies and the Department of Economics.
In the Italian scenario, the LEISAAM Master's Degree Programme is unique in its kind: it combines socio-linguistic and historical-cultural knowledge with economic, legal, political and social knowledge, with an approach focused on the realities of today’s study areas. The programme enables students to acquire high language and communication skills, combined with a sound knowledge of current institutional and socio-economic realities in their area of specialisation.
In particular, the following topics are approached:
In addition to acquiring the methodologies proper to the individual disciplines, the student develops analytical and intercultural communication skills in different sectors. This makes them capable of carrying out multiple tasks in a flexible and autonomous manner in companies or organisations involved in exchanges between Italy and the countries studied. The course also provides punctual preparation in order to apply to second-level professional Master’s Degree Programme and PhD studies.
The educational objectives are guaranteed by carefully selected field and area specialists.
Educational activities include classroom teaching, workshops and internships, in order to acquire wide-ranging skills that can be readily transferable into the world of work.
Knowledge gained by students will be assessed through written and oral exams during their entire university career.
The final exam consists in writing a thesis, which must possess the characters of originality, exhaustive documentation and scientific investigation and which will be discussed with a committee of university professors and experts.
Professional Master’s Programmes and PhD programmes.
Graduates will be able to work, with jobs of elevated responsibility, in the fields of relations with financial businesses and institutions that are active in the Asian or Mediterranea African market; as high level authorities in local, national and international public firms, in voluntary organisations and in international institutions and organisations operating in the sector of cooperation and development aid.
They may also carry out their professional activity and expertise through firms and institutions in the fields of economic, social and cultural integration; in the specific journalism sector and technical and scientific publishing, the expert advice in the economic and financial field and in the protection of immigrant languages.
