Double Degree with Higher School of Economics – Saint Petersburg

Mobility suspended for a.y. 2024/2025

The international mobility for this programme has been suspended for the 2024/2025 academic year. This destination has thus not been included in the Double/Joint Degree call for applications 2024.

The Double Degree programme jointly realized by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice – Department of Asian and North African Studies and the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) of Saint Petersburg is active starting from the academic year 2021/2022.

The programme offers Ca’ Foscari students the possibility to follow an international study path and spend the second year of the Master’s degree LAMAC at HSE.  

At the end of the study path, upon completion of all the exams and the thesis defense, students will receive a double degree:

  • Laurea Magistrale in Language and Management to China, classe LM-38 - D.M. 270/2004 from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice;
  • Master in Business and Politics in Modern Asia, from HSE.

Students can receive a mobility scholarship for the academic year in Russia, depending on the available funds.


Admission requirements

The programme is reserved for students enrolled in the Master’s degree in Language and Management to China (LAMAC) at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, who meet the following requirements:

  • Having attended the first academic year of the Master’s degree and having passed the exams of the study plan;
  • B2 level of English language proficiency (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Study period abroad

Students will be contacted by the staff of the Counseling and Welcome Unit for information about the procedures to carry out before, during and after the mobility period, taking place in the second academic year.

Information about scholarship possibilities can be found in the annual call for applications.

All students will be required to submit a Learning Agreement, listing all the academic activities they are planning to take abroad, which will be recognized in their study plan after the completion of the mobility. 


Graduation

Students defend their final thesis at their home University in front of a Committee of Professors of both institutions.

In order to submit the request to graduate, they must follow the standard procedure for all Ca’ Foscari students.

After the thesis discussion, it will be possible to start the procedure to request the diploma of the partner University. Both diplomas will be legally recognized in the countries of issuance.
