The master’s level double degree programme jointly designed by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, offers selected students the opportunity to attend their 2° year of enrolment courses at the partner University and achieve, at the end of the programme, two academic qualifications:
TThe double degree programme is reserved for students enrolled (or who wish to enroll within the set deadlines) in the 1st year of the master’s degree in European, American and Postcolonial Languages and Literatures - German studies at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, in the academic year following the Call’s publication year.
To participate in the programme, candidates must have a German proficiency at least at C1 level and an English proficiency at least at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). An official language certification is not required, but the language proficiency will be assessed during the selection interview.
Students selected before the actual enrolment in the master’s degree programme in European, American and Postcolonial Languages and Literatures must meet the course’s admission requirements (minimum curricular requirements and individual preparation) and commit to enrol within the deadlines set for the academic year following the Call’s publication year. Failure to do so will result in exclusion from the programme.

Selected students will spend one academic year at Georg-August-Universität Göttingn in the 2nd year of the master’s degree.
During the mobility period, students will attend seminars on modern German literature, its mediation and its professional applications, they will carry out a curricular internship and will write their thesis, completing the programme.
The master’s thesis will have to be written either in German or English and its writing process will be supervised and evaluated by professors from both Universities.

Educational activities to be carried out at the partner Universities should be agreed upon in advance with the programme’s academic coordinator, Prof. Stefania Sbarra prior to the departure.

Selected students are required to pay tuition fees to Ca' Foscari for the entire duration of the programme and will benefit from total exemption from the payment of tuition fees at the partner University.
For the mobility period, students will benefit from a mobility grant with a variable amount, as defined annually in the Calls for Applications.
Selected students may apply and compete for an additional grant (so-called DAAD scholarship) provided by the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst. More information is available on the following webpage: Scholarships & Funding.
Before departing for the mobility, selected students will be required to:
Further information will be provided by the Welcome Unit (International Office) upon completion of the selection process and after formal acceptance of the offer.
After reaching the destination, students will have to get the confirmation of arrival form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual start date of the mobility period (orientation/welcome activities or educational activities).
If the students intend to make changes to the study plan agreed upon before departure, it is possible to complete a Learning Agreement variation form, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.
Before returning from the mobility, students will have to get the confirmation of departure form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual end date of the mobility period.
As soon as available, students must send to the Welcome Unit (International Office) the Transcript of records issued by the Host University, i.e. the certificate listing all the exams they passed during the mobility abroad.
The exams reported in the Transcript of records must correspond to those agreed upon in the Learning Agreement and any subsequent variation forms.
Students will conclude their study path at the partner University, following the procedures and deadlines indicated by the partner University.
Once students have achieved their diploma at the partner University, they will have to inform the Welcome Unit sending the following:

After receiving the documentation needed, the Welcome Unit will start the credits recognition process, including the final examination. Once the recognition process is completed, the Ca’ Foscari career will be closed from back office, without the need to present the graduation request.
Both degrees will be recognised in the country of issuance.
