Regarding the available spaces, there are 5 spots reserved for non-EU students residing outside Italy, of which 2 is reserved for a Chinese student living in China, under the Marco Polo Project.
To be admitted to this Master's Degree Programme students must possess a proper individual educational background and the minimum curricular requirements. A certified knowledge of English at minimum level B2 is also required.

Applicants with international qualification must have obtained a bachelor’s degree that is the result of at least 3 years of study. The preliminary evaluation of the qualification is mandatory. Procedures and deadlines are available on the dedicated online platform.
International qualification will be evaluated by the designated teaching committee after the pre-evaluation procedure carried out on the online platform.
This Master's Degree Programme aims to train experts in philology, ancient literatures, ancient history, and archaeology. According to the curriculum chosen (Archaeology, Philology, Ancient Literatures and History) students will acquire specialised skills and methods in archaeology, ancient art and material culture history, languages and literatures of ancient Greek and Latin civilisations, that is in the ancient history field.
The teaching activities make use of the extensive library and digital resources of the Art and Humanities Library and the technologies and methodologies offered by Digital Humanities, which allow access to archives of texts and sources in electronic format by means of specific query programmes.
Excavation experiences, epigraphic internships, humanities computer labs, and archaeological museum placements contribute to the students' preparation.
Depending on the chosen curricula, Master's Degree graduates will be able to fulfil managerial roles in specific institutions (archaeological superintendencies, museums, local administrations, offices in charge of cataloguing, documentation, restoration, excavation cooperatives, and publishing), as well as gain access, subject to the requirements of current legislation, to a teaching qualification in schools and secondary schools
Ca' Foscari University of Venice offers international educational programmes designed in collaboration with one or more partner universities, entailing the attendance of part of the study path abroad. At the conclusion of these programmes, selected students obtain a Double Degree (a diploma from Ca' Foscari and one issued by the partner university) or a Joint Degree (single degree jointly awarded by the member universities of the consortium delivering the programme), depending on the provisions of the agreements with the partner universities and the different national regulations.

The educational activities include classroom teaching, workshops and internships, in order to acquire wide-ranging skills that can be readily transferable into the world of work.
During the whole university career, the various skills and knowledge acquired by students will be assessed through written and oral examinations.
The degree exam consists in writing a thesis, which must possess the characters of originality, exhaustive documentation and scientific investigation and which will be discussed with a committee of university professors and experts.

Depending on the different curricula, second cycle graduates will be able to hold positions of responsibility in managing institutions, such as archaeological superintendences, museums, local administrations, offices in charge of cataloguing, documentation and restoration, excavation associations or cooperatives. Furthermore, they may find employment in the publishing field and proceed to obtaining the teaching qualification for junior and senior secondary schools.
