Modern Languages, Cultures and Societies

Tools and methodologies seminars

30 hours

Aimed at the acquisition and consolidation of general methodologies and cross-cutting tools of analysis expendable by doctoral students in their specific fields. The seminar in question is designed for the first and second year of the course, reason for which, in order to ensure the appropriate breadth and variety of the categories, methodologies and tools offered, the alternation of the responsible lecturers, areas of affiliation and programs will be respected.

In-depth seminars

30 hours each

They are inherent to the scientific disciplinary fields to which the doctoral students belong. The specific seminars will be conducted in continuity with the general part, to ensure the possibility of applying the tools acquired. For the 1st year of the course, specific programs will be prepared within all areas of study of the Curriculum in question and, subsequently, seminars pertaining to the scientific disciplinary areas of interest of the successful candidate(s) will be activated.

Linguistics

Tools and methodologies seminars

Two lectures of 30 hours each, in GLOT-01/A, GLOT-01/B and GERM-01/A 

They are aimed at the acquisition and consolidation of research methodologies and tools, the ability to set up and structure the research process, and the evaluation of implications, feasibility and results. The courses also aim to provide knowledge of dissemination techniques and opportunities.

In-depth seminars

Two lectures of 30 hours each in GLOT-01/A, GLOT-01/B and GERM-01/A 

They are aimed at consolidating highly specialized theoretical training concerning: language and communication theories and their applications to typical and atypical acquisition, corpus analysis, qualitative and quantitative data collection on language variation, and language teaching. The specific contents of the in-depth seminars are identified for each year, taking into account the research interests of doctoral students enrolled in the course.
