To be admitted to this Master's Degree Programme students must possess a proper individual educational background and the minimum curricular requirements. A certified knowledge of English at minimum level B2 is also required.

This Master's degree programme provides advanced knowledge of the languages, literatures and cultures of European, American and postcolonial countries, promoting cross-cultural perspectives within a solid background in humanities.
Graduates will be able to continue their studies in the field of research, to fulfil roles of responsibility in the fields of national and international entrepreneurship and in public and private institutions; they will be able to access the programmes in order to teach in public or private primary and secondary school.

Ca' Foscari University of Venice offers international educational programmes designed in collaboration with one or more partner universities, entailing the attendance of part of the study path abroad. At the conclusion of these programmes, selected students obtain a Double Degree (a diploma from Ca' Foscari and one issued by the partner university) or a Joint Degree (single degree jointly awarded by the member universities of the consortium delivering the programme), depending on the provisions of the agreements with the partner universities and the different national regulations.

Educational activities include classroom teaching, workshops and internships, in order to acquire wide-ranging skills that can be readily transferable into the world of work.
Knowledge gained by students will be assessed through written and oral exams during their entire university career.
The final exam consists in writing a thesis, which must possess the characters of originality, exhaustive documentation and scientific investigation and which will be discussed with a committee of university professors and experts.

With the expertise gained from the two-year master’s program and the essential knowledge fostering independent judgment and decision-making in professional contexts, graduates will be equipped to engage in advanced research, assume high-level positions in text translation, publishing, national and international entrepreneurship, cultural institutions (linguistic consultancy), and diplomatic and consular services. They may also find employment in organisations, associations, NGOs, and public or private institutions at both national and international levels, including in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Furthermore, they will be well-prepared to compete successfully for positions teaching languages, cultures, and foreign literature in both private and public schools across all levels.
