Financial networks

The study of financial networks makes it possible to evaluate the stability of these systems with practical implications. The banking system can be represented by means of this mathematical tool composed of vertices and arcs and characterized by topological measures allowing to study the dynamics of contagion processes within them, contributing to stress tests that are closer to reality by central banks. Future activities: the study of credit / business relationships and the measurement of the impact of a financial crisis on the real economy and vice versa Ownership Network Milan Stock Exchange 1993.

Disinformation

The possibility of using topology to represent communities and sociopolitical systems makes it possible today to carry out a scientific analysis of these systems, with the possibility, therefore, of creating mathematical models and validating them through experimental comparison, thus making it possible to create plausible scenarios for the future evolution of these systems. The future activities that we intend to carry out have as their object the study of the propagation of disinformation on the media and on social networks.

Brain physics and functional networks

From functional magnetic resonance analysis, we are able to describe which areas of the brain collaborate during simple brain activities. Through the statistical analysis of these data by means of networks, we are able to quantitatively distinguish patients suffering from a disease from healthy patients. We propose together with the San Camillo Center to extend these studies to a variety of diseases and  problems of the human brain.
