Below you will find information on further financial assistance offered to reduce your university fees for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Exemptions

Full exemption from tuition fees (except for the 184 EUR regional tax of financial aid and the possible stamp duty) is granted to:

  • students who are the beneficiaries or whose parents are recipients of a disability pension, as established by art.12 of Italian Law 118/71, and as provided for by art.30 of the same law. If you meet these requirements, contact the Financial Aid Office for more information about the exemptions;
  • holder of refugee status or subsidiary protection status;
  • International students recipients of a scholarship from the Italian Government under the development cooperation programmes.

If you are a student with a disability rated at 66 percent or more you are entitled to complete exemption from your tuition fees (with the exception of possible stamp duty) under article 3, paragraph 1 of Italian Law 104 of 5 February 1992).

The students recipients of the regional scholarship and those who have been listed as eligible are entitled to full exemption from fees and shall thus be refunded for the amounts paid, with the exception of the stamp duty.
The students recepients of or eligible for scholarships for an additional semester beyond the normal duration of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes are entitled to an exemption from half the amount of the tuition fees and to the refund of the regional tax.

Reductions

The due amount of tuitions fees may be reduced based on merit criteria (regardless of the ISEE certificate value).

These reductions may be combined with other benefits granted by the "Student Act" or with other financial aid benefits according to merit or income criteria.

Attention: If you are enrolled in the Digital Management or in the Hospitality Innovation and e-Tourism Bachelor’s Degree programmes you will not be able to benefit from the reductions indicated below and you will be held to the contribution required by your degree programme.

Reductions

Reductions are calculated automatically in April 2024 and are applied to the total amount due as fee balance without need for you to make any specific request.

The University provides for a reduction for merit, equal to 315.00 EUR (205.00 EUR for part-time students).

The reduction is given in the following cases:

  • first year students who obtained a minimum Higher School Certificate mark of 98 out of 100 (or a minimum of 58 out of 60 for school leavers up to the 1998/99 academic year);
  • students enrolled in successive academic years who meet both of the following conditions:

1. To have achieved and registered the credits resulting from the exams held by 30 September 2023 on their personal page as follows:

(*) “Year” refers to the number of years the student has been enrolled starting from their first enrolment in their first year at any University, as in the case of transfers from other Universities or from other Ca’ Foscari programmes.

For the purpose of calculating merit for obtaining benefits, any years of suspension from studies are not counted, except in cases where the suspension has been determined by disciplinary measures. Furthermore, credits coming from:

  • exams or internships recognized in past academic studies which have concluded with a qualification or following withdrawal/loss of student status or from other activities, even if held before enrolment and for which students have been granted accreditation;
  • exams taken for single courses previous to enrolment to the current Degree;
  • exams that have not been completed (partial exams are not considered);
  • eligibility certificates/internships/seminars also obtained after enrolment.

After six years of part-time enrolment the student acquires full-time status with the resulting rules for determining merit.

To determine the number of years and merits for students who initially enrolled as “part-time” students and who continue their university career as “full-time” students as per the above table, every two years studied with “part-time” status qualifies as one “full-time” year of study. In any case, every year of “part-time” study is regarded as one full year of study.  To determine the number of years and merit for students who started their university career as “full-time” students then continue as “part-time” students, each academic year of “full-time” study qualifies as two years of “part-time” study.

2. To have obtained the following marks (out of 30): it will be considered the range of marks for each field of study in relation to the weighted mark average in undergraduate degree programmes of the same academic field will. In particular, for the following fields:

  • Economics: a minimum mark of 26/30;
  • Humanities:29/30;
  • Languages: a minimum mark of 28/30;
  • Science: a minimum mark of 26/30.

The mark 30 cum laude will be counted as 30 for the purposes of determining the mark average used for the final degree mark.

To benefit from merit-based reductions, you must not already hold a degree either obtained before or after Ministerial Decree 509/1999 (Laurea Vecchio Ordinamento or Laurea Nuovo Ordinamento) gained in Italy or abroad, nor must you hold a Diploma issued by the Conservatorium or Academy of Fine Arts or a Bachelor’s Degree issued under Law no. 508/1999.

Please note: if you fail to meet any of the above conditions, you may not take advantage of reductions based on merit.

The University provides for a speed bonus equal to 100.00 EUR (which cannot be combined with the discount for merit) for the students who, by 30 September 2023, have collected a certain amount of credits through exams only (internships, seminars and other qualifications are not included) recorded on their university record book (libretto):

Sudents who have enrolled at Ca’ Foscari as of 2020/2021 academic year may benefit from a reduction of 400.00 EUR for every year of enrolment if they have other family members also enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s Degree at the University.
The concession will be granted during the preparation of the third instalment (April 2024) to all members of the family unit registered with Ca' Foscari provided that each one meets the following conditions:

  • students requesting the incentive must be up-to-date with their university fees for the 2023/2024 academic year;
  • students who apply for the incentive must be financially dependent on the same family unit;
  • the reduction is granted exclusively to students whose financial situation as outlined in their ISEE (means-test declaration) is less than 60,000.00 EUR and hold the minimum merit requisites foreseen by their current university fees payment schedule;
  • students must submit by the deadline of 11 December 2023 the benefits application online in the reserved area, the ISEE certificate for fee reductions for the right to university education and the “Family Incentive form [ITA]” for households including one or more members enrolled at Ca' Foscari. All members of the household that are simultaneously enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme at Ca' Foscari are required to submit the documentation.

Please note: if you fail to meet any of the above conditions, you may not take advantage of above-stated reductions.

The reduction may be added to other benefits available from the "Student Act" or with other merit or income based reductions offered. Students who are already exempt from paying fees (winners of regional grants or eligible for the same, or students with disabilities equal to or above 66% etc.).

If you are a student with a recognized and certified disability between 50% and 65% you have the right to fee reduction of 400.00 EUR (regardless of your merit/income requirements), provided that you are not a part-time student and that you are not enrolled for more than one academic year exceeding the normal duration of the programme. If you are already exempted from the payment of the university tuition you will not be entitled to other discounts (i.e., students eligible/winners of a Regional Scholarship).

In any case you can apply for a tuition discount based on your ISEE, provided that you have regularly submitted the benefit application and the ISEE certification, and that:

  • you comply with all tuition reduction requirements, as calculated according to the ISEE economic index;
  • the ISEE economic index is equal or lower than the maximum amount of EUR 60,000.

Exemptions

The University provides for a reduction for merit, equal to 315.00 EUR (205.00 EUR for part-time students).

These reductions are granted in the following cases:

  • students enrolled in first year of the following Master’s Degrees and whose Bachelor Degree mark is:

    • Economics: from 108 to 110 cum laude;
    • Humanities: 110 and 110 cum laude;
    • Languages: 110 and 110 cum laude;
    • Science: from 108 to 110 cum laude.

  • students enrolled in successive academic years who meet both of the following conditions:

1. To have achieved and registered the credits resulting from the exams held by 30 September 2023 on their personal page as follows:

In any case, every year of “part-time” study is regarded as one full year of study.  To determine the number of years and merit for students who started their university career as “full-time” students and then continue as “part-time” students, each academic year of “full-time” study qualifies as two years of “part-time” study.

2. To have gained the following marks (out of 30): the range of marks for each field of study in relation to the weighted mark average in undergraduate degree programmes of the same academic field will be considered. In particular, for the following fields:

  • Economics: a minimum mark of 29/30;
  • Humanities: 30/30;
  • Linguistics: a minimum mark of 29/30;
  • Science: a minimum mark of 29/30.

The mark 30 cum laude will be counted as 30 for the purposes of determining the mark average used for the final degree mark.

Students who have enrolled at Ca’ Foscari as of the 2021/2022 academic year may benefit from a reduction of 400.00 EUR for every year of enrollment if they have other family members also enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s Degree at the University.

Every member of the family enrolled at Ca' Foscari may benefit from this reduction if the following conditions are met:

  • students requesting the incentive must be up-to-date with their university fees for the 2023/2024 academic year;
  • students who apply for the incentive must be financially dependent on the same family unit;
  • the reduction is granted exclusively to students whose financial situation as outlined in their ISEE (means-test declaration) is less than 60,000.00 EUR and hold the minimum merit requisites foreseen by their current university fees payment schedule;
