Let’s talk about you: what is your background, what do you teach, and what are your research interests?.
I am Brazilian, from the province of São Paulo state, of Italian immigrant descent. I currently research sustainability strategy, mainly related to corporate sustainability issues and its challenges in the digital economy. I am interested in social responsibilities of organisations aligned with profitability and technological progress.

What are your professional references?
I am passionate about teaching sustainability management. I like raising awareness and awakening the consciousness of future decision-makers for a common future. This can be accomplished with a lot of classroom reflection on the role of companies in society and how managers' decisions change the course of many people's lives. In this sense, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) projects are the ones that allow for greater engagement between issues relevant to society and the success of companies. The current challenges for this generation of managers are to develop digital business models that meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Have you always known that this was going to be your path?
No, research is a hard but very engaging path. For a Latina woman, reaching new professional positions is often only a dream. There are many prejudices. However, once you enter the world of research, you realise how much you can do for students and society and this is a driving force to continue fighting against the odds. My life was very safe and quiet in Brazil, I was an employee of a federal university and I had already received the expected rewards. However, when we believe in a dream, nothing can stop us and with effort, we end up finding places where we align with the values we believe in. In this case, at Ca' Foscari I found inclusion, equality and respect.

Which degree programme would you recommend to a young graduate and why?
All digital technology programmes. There has never been a need for so many qualified professionals in an industry like this. There is a misconception that digital is only for industry. On the contrary, the digital transition is now permeating all business processes, all stakeholder relations and all activity areas, such as healthcare, transport, banking and entertainment.

Why should someone choose Ca’ Foscari?
Why should someone not choose Ca' Foscari? It is a comprehensive university, with a state-of-the-art teaching structure, passionate and competent professors, and a care for accessibility, accommodation and quality of student life that lets young people develop their full potential. Teaching with honesty, being able to give our best to the students who receive it, trying to get students to overcome their limits, and believing that they are capable of going much further is a satisfaction that we give back by being happy to work in a wonderful place. I am proud to be part of this team.
