The European Commission has just approved funding for the EUTOPIA MORE project (European Universities Transforming into an Open Inclusive Academy - Making Organisational and Real Evolution), which will be awarded over 14 million euros in the next four years to organise activities for students and initiatives to support PhD students and researchers.
“This will enable us to provide Ca' Foscari students with further opportunities to conduct their studies and research with an international and interdisciplinary approach. We will develop learning units open to the students of the ten universities of the alliance, to involve them in case studies and practical activities. We will also set up internship opportunities and summer schools across the alliance,” says Tiziana Lippiello, Rector of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
“The alliance will increase the support for young researchers by providing scholarships to encourage innovative and interdisciplinary research projects.
EUTOPIA is also an amazing opportunity to get to know and collaborate with people in other universities on an international level.
In the face of global changes and the increasing complexity of knowledge, our universities must transform themselves through international collaboration and promote the acquisition of new skills, refashioning methods of research to increase its impact on society. In a world in which knowledge is constantly changing, our approach to the analysis of complexity must come from a place of sharing and cooperation among university communities.”
Ca’ Foscari is the only Italian university to have joined EUTOPIA, an alliance of 10 European universities who share a vision and collaborate to build the universities of the future. In 2019, EUTOPIA was one of the first European university alliances to obtain funding through the European Universities Initiative (Erasmus +, Key Action 2: Cooperation among organisations and institutions — Partnerships for Excellence).
EUTOPIA’s next meeting will be held in Venice on 15 and 16 September 2022. Ca’ Foscari will welcome the rectors of EUTOPIA universities and a delegation of professors from the other nine universities of the alliance.
