From 27 June to 1 July, the representatives of the EUTOPIA alliance will meet in Brussels at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) for EUTOPIA Week, an appointment that every six months brings the university of EUTOPIA together.

All members of the Ca’ Foscari community can participate online in many meetings of EUTOPIA Week and learn more about the alliance and its projects: here’s the programme.

Here are some examples of the events you could participate in.

For students

Are you interested in the topic of inclusion in higher education? Would you like to explore how other European universities are working on inclusion? Don’t miss the appointment on Wednesday 29 June.

Wednesday 29 June, 15:00-17:00
Student forum: an inclusive EUTOPIA, with and by the students of the inclusion focus groups
Implementing principles of inclusion, openness, equality, and diversity requires higher education institutions to move beyond traditional exchange approaches, and to integrate well-coordinated practices and programmes. But what does an inclusive European university truly look like? The students of the EUTOPIA inclusion focus groups present their findings and needs, and invite you to do the same during this student forum!

Are you familiar with the EUTOPIA Student Think Tank (EUSTT)? It is a space where students can share ideas, knowledge and research inspiration. To learn more about it, check out the EUSTT website and read our article about it. Make the most of the event on Thursday 30 June to get inspired!

Thursday 30 June, 11:30 - 13:00
EUSTT publication-centred events: a new paradigm for EUTOPIAn students
The EUTOPIA Student Think Tank invites all students to this session where EUSTT student authors will present their written work and some of their current research projects.

For researchers and teaching staff

Research at Ca’ Foscari is also research in EUTOPIA, and the events of EUTOPIA Week are an excellent opportunity to get to know the possibilities that the alliance offers.

How can we enhance cultural heritage in EUTOPIA? Ideas on practice-led research will be at the centre of the event on Wednesday 29 June.

Wednesday 29 June, 15:00-17:00
Cultural Heritage in EUTOPIA
Tangible and intangible heritage in the light of human and social sciences: teaching, training, valorisation and practice around "practice-led research" (master and PhD students, researchers)

Inclusion as “decolonization” of the curriculum: participate in the event on Thursday 30 June to reflect on this topic and on strategies to implement it.

Thursday 30 June, 10:00 - 11:30
Decolonize higher education
EUTOPIA’s inclusion experts welcome you to this session on decolonization of higher education. The topic of the session will be introduced by two experts in the field before participants are engaged in open conversations and exchanges on the discourses and practices of decolonization in higher education. What is decolonization about? What are the values of decolonization? What happens if we do not decolonize? What are the structural mechanisms required to change the current systems of curriculum, recruitment and institutional frameworks?
