Ca’ Foscari will organize several events in January for its community and beyond, and in particular exhibitions and conferences.
The 2018 edition of the Kids University project at Ca’ Foscari will start collaborating with schools in Italy around the topic of inclusion with the title “All for one and one for all” (‘Uno per tutti, tutti per uno’).
The university will re-open after its Winter Break on January 8th 2018.

January 8th
Conference, Encountering Kazakhstan: toward the new Silk Road
4.30pm, Aula Baratto
Focus on Kazakhstan with guests Stefano Ravagnan, Italian ambassador in Kazakhstan, Galym Mutanov, Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, and Tolkyn Abildayeva,  Head of Foreign Literature Department at the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Astana, as part of the project “A Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI) was created in 2013 by the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

January 9th
Vernissage, exhibition: Ca' Foscari allo specchio. A 80 anni dalle leggi razziali
Cultural Flow Zone - CFZ, 5pm
Exhibition commemorating the 80 years of the racial laws passed in 1938 in Italy with the Archives of Ca’ Foscari and of high schools Benedetti-Tommaseo and Foscarini in Venice.
Project carried out by Silvia Ghiotto, Alessio Conte, Davide Busato, Veronica Bortolussi, Marco Diego De Paoli, Marta Marchini, Deborah Marcon, Caterina Mongardini, Enrico Ruffino, in collaboration with the students of the high schools Benedetti-Tommaseo and Foscarini.

January 22nd
Ceremony and conference, setting a stumbling stone in honor of Olga Blumenthal Secrétant
Ca’ Foscari headquarters and Auditorium Santa Margherita, 11am
Stumbling stone in honor of Olga Blumenthal Secrétant, Germany reader at Ca’ Foscari deported in Ravensbruck in 1944.
Followed by an encounter with artist Gunter Demnig who created the initiative.
