On Friday February 2nd, the new 300 incoming students about to begin their Semester at Ca’ Foscari were invited to spend a day to discover the university and the support specifically designed for international students.

They were first welcomed at the Auditorium Santa Margherita by Tiziana Lippiello, the Vice-provost for International Relations: “My first study abroad experience was in Beijing. It was a life changing experience. Take the most of this incredible experience and enjoy the upcoming months in our university!”.

The international relations office then presented its services and how to approach their new Venetian life. “It is always a pleasure to welcome new international students and show them all the services that the universities make available to them”, said Elisa Gamba, referee of the Welcome Unit, which welcomed students at Venice airport, will meet up with each incoming student and provide them with information material.

The School for International Education introduced their Italian language courses for exchange students ranging from B1 to C1 levels; ESN Venezia presented their aim “to support student exchange programs, supplying information and any kind of help that can be voluntarily given by its members” and their activities, as well as AIESEC Venezia, international organization for students and young graduates completely managed by university students.

Students also had the opportunity to meet their buddies and share their first impressions of Venice, benefitting from their local input in their new university life and offering these Ca’ Foscari students the opportunity to mingle with the international community of our university.

Students then discovered the main student services and associations and took a tour of the main university building, discovering its long history as well as the main Departments and libraries of the University, before raising a glass to their upcoming Venetian adventures.
