Dr.ssa G. Toscano
E' nata a Palazzolo Acreide il 17/03/1960 ed è residente in Viale Nino Bixio n. 71, 3100 Treviso (tel. 0422-543764, 041- 2348950).
Si è laureata in Chimica - indirizzo organico - biologico con il punteggio di 110/110 e lode, presso l'Università degli Studi di Catania, nel 1985. Dal 1986 al 1988 ha seguito il corso di dottorato di ricerca in Chimica Analitica ed Ambientale, presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Ambientali dell'Università 'Ca Foscari Venezia. L'08/09/1989 ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca presentando una dissertazione finale dal titolo: "Speciazione di metalli pesanti in acqua di mare".
Dal 7/2/91 al 31/12/2000 è stata collaboratore tecnico, presso la sezione di Chimica Analitica del Dipartimento di Scienze Ambientali dell'Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia.
L'1/1/2000 è stata nominata ricercatore universitario presso la Facoltà di Scienze MM. FF. NN., settore scientifico-disciplinare CHIM01 (Chimica Analitica).
Attività scientifica
L'interesse è stato principalmente rivolto allo sviluppo di metodologie elettroanalitiche (DPASV) su elettrodi rotanti a film sottile di mercurio per la determinazione del complessamento di metalli in tracce da parte di leganti organici naturali in matrici ambientali. E' stata quindi studiata la distribuzione e il complessamento di piombo, cadmio e rame in aree costiere e di mare aperto, come la Laguna di Venezia e il Mare Adriatico notevolmente influenzate dalle attività antropiche e in aree remote come il Mare di Ross in Antartide.
Negli ultimi anni l'attività di ricerca ha riguardato lo sviluppo di metodologie per la determinazione di elementi in tracce mediante spettrometria di massa con sorgente al plasma accoppiato induttivamente (ICP-FMS e ICP-QMS). In questo ambito sono stati svolti studi finalizzati alla caratterizzazione chimica nel particellato atmosferico (PM10, PM2.5) e alla stima dei flussi atmosferici di microinquinanti inorganici ed organici in aree geografiche di notevole interesse ambientale come la Laguna di Venezia e la Baia di Terra Nova in Antartide.
Ha partecipato alla campagna in Antartide 1993-1994 per il campionamento e l'analisi di acqua di mare. Nel triennio 2000-03 ha collaborato al Programma Nazionale di Ricerche in Antartide, progetto "Chimica dei Microinquinanti" e al programma CORILA (Consorzio per la Gestione del Centro di Coordinamento delle Attività di Ricerca inerenti il Sistema Lagunare di Venezia") progetto "Ruolo dell'Aerosol e dell'inquinamento secondario sulla contaminazione chimica della laguna di Venezia".
Nel triennio 01/01/2004-31/12/2006 ha continuato a collaborare al Programma CORILA progetto "Bilancio dei flussi di microinquinanti organici ed inorganici all'interfaccia atmosfera-acqua della laguna di Venezia".
L' attività di ricerca della dr.ssa G. Toscano si concretizza in oltre 20 pubblicazioni su riviste nazionali internazionali.
Attività didattica:
Dal 2001 al 2009 ha tenuto regolarmente il corso di Laboratorio di Chimica Analitica I, insegnamento fondamentale del Corso Laurea in Chimica.
