Adapting and Rewriting in the Long Eighteenth Century

Sala Marino Berengo - Ca' Foscari

The conference “Adapting and Rewriting in the Age of the Enlightenment”, held at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, explores the multifaceted phenomenon of adaptation in 18th-century Europe. We will examine the causes, methods, and forms of adaptation, along with the key figures who engaged in this cultural practice. By delving into these aspects, we aim to reflect on the role of adaptation in the evolution and transformation of Enlightenment literature.
