Sala Partesotti, San Giobbe Economics Campus + online

Marco Angheben, Head of Business Development and Regulatory Affairs of European DataWarehouse

  • The relevance of data for the Green Transition in the EU: evidence from the auto and mortgage sectors

The lack of high-quality sustainability data in the financial services sector constitutes one of the main obstacles for the green transition. As a consequence, the improvement of disclosure standards for financial products is a key element to attract private funding to meet the European Union climate and environmental targets. Consistent and harmonised disclosure requirements are necessary to properly assess and address climate-related risks and to foster comparability for investors.
As a securitisation repository, European DataWarehouse collects, validates and makes available for download detailed, standardised and asset class specific loan-level data for Asset-Backed Securities transactions. EDW helps to facilitate risk assessment and to improve transparency standards for European ABS deals. As part of its remit as a securitisation repository, European DataWarehouse support Europe’s green transition by working on solutions to enhance the consistency, availability, and comparability of sustainability-related data. In addition, European DataWarehouse is leading the ENGAGE for ESG initiative to promote ESG transparency for residential mortgages and home renovation loans in alignment with the EU Taxonomy to facilitate sustainable investments. European DataWarehouse has also partnered in the Green Auto Securitisation initiative, incentivising the creation of a framework for the financing of low-emission vehicles.

  • From Smartness to Autonomy

Starting with the fundamental definitions and distinctions between Automation, Optimization, and Artificial Intelligence, we will delve into a comprehensive examination of the various challenges that are likely to arise in the coming years. These challenges will affect not only businesses and workers but also society at large and educational institutions, including universities. Our exploration will address the multifaceted impacts and implications these technological advancements may have across different sectors and communities.

Esteban Romero Frías, Vice-Rector for Social Innovation, Employability, and Entrepreneurship, University of Granada

  • The generation of alliances between university and institutions to address territorial challenges

This approach addresses various actions to connect universities and governmental institutions, primarily at the municipal level, through the creation of common structures that establish an institutional collaboration framework. This framework supports initiatives such as university regional councils, the development of employability and entrepreneurship actions within the territory, aiming to develop policies for digitalization and sustainability. It also involves mapping and connecting initiatives within academic institutions to provide resources to municipalities and regions. Ultimately, this will foster the economic development of various institutions.
