Abstract
Join Prof. Dr Ulrike Wuttke from University of Applied Sciences Potsdam for a lecture on her planned anthology “From Global to Local?” (to be published Open Access with Melusina Press around December 2025). The anthology that will include 1) classical articles, 2) audio features, and 3) artefact biographies, will critically examine the implications of the developmental trajectories of Digital Humanities in the German-speaking world for the disciplinary self-understanding and the epistemic promises of digital methods.
Although the focus of this anthology will be on the German-speaking world, it seeks to provide a multi-perspective and multimodal space for tracing both locally situated and international histories and manifestations of digital humanities, because Digital Humanists, although belonging to a global community, always work within national and local contexts. Dr Ulrike Wuttke invites you to discuss with her how the planned multimodal and multimedia anthology will highlight diverse perspectives and voices, breaking away from a linear narrative to offer a rich, multi-faceted view. Especially she would love to discuss with you ideas for a envisaged audio feature (podcast episode) about “DH on Tour: The Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities” that is planned to be part of the publication.
